Dmytro Kuleba: “Synergy is not just a good word. This is a practical necessity, because together we are much stronger than just the sum of our efforts. I am confident that together Ukraine and NATO will be able to overcome any challenge we may face in the future".

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, together with the NATO Information and Documentation Center in Ukraine, has launched the project "Stronger Together".

Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine for European Integration

“Achievement of military criteria for full-fledged membership in NATO is a core task, the Armed Forces of Ukraine fulfil.

Ukraine is proud to contribute our battle-tested forces to NATO-led crises response operations, thus jointly keeping the Euro-Atlantic region secure.

We implement ambitious Defence Reform in accordance with NATO standards and, by definition, every newly built Ukrainian capability is interoperable with NATO.

Ukraine and NATO: we can be stronger together.”

The Ukrainian military have developed a set of doctrine papers, consisting of more than 200 new documents aimed at training and harmonising combat experience of the Armed Forces of Ukraine according to the NATO principles and standards.

A national certification system of operational readiness has been established.

Head of The NATO Representation to Ukraine, Director of the NATO Liaison Office in Ukraine Alexander Vinnikov:

“Last year NATO Allies recognized Ukraine as one of NATO’s six Enhanced Opportunities Partners. This is a clear recognition of Ukraine’s significant contributions to Euro-Atlantic security.

Notably, Ukraine was the first partner country to have participated in the NATO Response Force in 2011

Ukraine also continues to contribute deployed troops to NATO’s missions in Afghanistan (Resolute Support) and Kosovo (KFOR)

Allies value Ukraine’s contributions which continue in spite of the Russia-Ukraine conflict and the COVID-19 pandemic.”

Ukraine is undertaking actions needed to join the NATO Mission Iraq in 2021. The Ukrainian Navy is going to join Operation Sea Guardian in the Mediterranean Sea with two Island-class patrol boats and to contribute its frigate «Hetman Sahaidachnyi» in 2023.

In 2021 the Armed Forces of Ukraine intend to participate in 22 multinational exercises, eight of which will take place on the territory of Ukraine.

Ukraine works jointly with its partners to improve the combat skills of the Ukrainian military during such military training missions as the US-led Joint Multinational Training Group-Ukraine, the UK-led ORBITAL, Canada-led UNIFIER and Lithuanian Military Training Mission.
